Today,  I noticed that he clearly described the current fad of &#8216;Thin provisioning&#8221; in an Oracle environment. <a href=\"http:\/\/oraclestorageguy.typepad.com\/\">Link <\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This makes thin provisioning completely useless nonsense for Oracle data. Anyone who tells you otherwise should be viewed with deep suspicion. I say this without any bias whatsoever, since my employer sells arrays that provide thin provisioning too. I am simply telling you the way it is here.&#8221;<a onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" href=\"http:\/\/tbn0.google.com\/images?q=tbn:8LQ2JrVwUIIgYM:http:\/\/www.the-cosmic-forces.net\/img_series\/dragnet.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 96px; height: 71px;\" src=\"http:\/\/tbn0.google.com\/images?q=tbn:8LQ2JrVwUIIgYM:http:\/\/www.the-cosmic-forces.net\/img_series\/dragnet.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The trade press just regurgitates the press releases provided by the storage manufacturers, and does not seem to challenge the assumptions that the manufacturers make very often.
